Designing robustly stabilising controllers for LTI spatially distributed systems using coprime factor synthesis

چکیده
This paper considers the design of feedback controllers for linear, time-invariant, spatially distributed systems in an approach which generalises the H∞-framework and in particular the H∞ loop-shaping method. To this end, we introduce a class of spatially distributed system models called /nite dimensional, distributed, linear, time-invariant systems. Sensors and actuators are considered to be part of the controller, rather than part of the plant, and thus the controller we wish to design is itself a spatially distributed system. Optimising over placements and shapes of the sensor and actuator spatial distribution functions is an integrated part of the controller design procedure. As an illustrative design example, we present the feedback stabilisation of an electrostatically destabilised, electrically conducting membrane. ? 2002 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.

Robustly stabilizing controllers for dissipative infinite-dimensional systems with collocated actuators and sensors
We derive formulas for normalized doubly coprime factorizations over H 1 , for a class of nonexponentially stabilizable systems. Using these results, we solve the problem of robust stabilization with respect to normalized coprime factor perturbations for a class of innnite-dimensional systems (A; B; B ; D), with nite-rank inputs and outputs and dissipative A; these systems are not exponentially...
متن کاملEllipsoidal Sets for Static Output Feedback
The static output feedback synthesis for LTI systems is considered. It is shown to have analogies with robust analysis, in particular the existence of an output feedback gain is equivalent to the existence of some quadratic separator. These considerations lead to formulate the problem as the synthesis of an ellipsoidal set of stabilising controllers. Based on this formulation important issues a...
متن کاملDistributed stabilization of spatially invariant systems: positive polynomial approach
The paper gives a computationally feasible characterisation of spatially distributed discrete-time controllers stabilising a spatially invariant system. This gives a building block for convex optimisation based control design for these systems. Mathematically, such systems are described by partial differential equations with coefficients independent on time and location. In this paper, a situat...
متن کاملDesigning and Modeling a Control System for Aircraft in the Presence of Wind Disturbance (TECHNICAL NOTE)
This paper proposes a switching adaptive control for trajectory tracking of unmanned aircraft systems. The switching adaptive control method is designed to overcome the wind disturbance and achieve a proper tracking performance for control systems. In the suggested system, the wind disturbance is regarded as a finite set of uncertainties; a controller is designed for each uncertainty, and a per...
متن کاملConvex `2 Synthesis for Multidimensional Systems
This paper deals with the design of control systems for multidimensional systems in the Roesser state space format 14] with an`2 induced gain performance criterion. The region of analyticity of the closed loop system can be pre-speciied, corresponding to the relaxation of the standard causal-ity requirement (or equivalently, stability requirement) found in H 1 optimization. These techniques may...
